A Magazine About Letterheads - Volume 8, No. 2, August 2003

Cork, Ireland played host to the 2003 International Letterhead Meet where signmakers from around the world gathered to participate in a Celtic inspired intertwining of talent. An intense weekend focusing on the finer points of the craft was organized by Peter McCullen and Gerry Fitzgibbon.

On hand to teach the nuances of operating and marketing a sign business were Canada's dynamic duo, Nancy Beaudette and Noella Cotnam - their dimensionally woven project is featured on the cover. Gary Godby, a highly respected artist from Virginia, was the project leader of the fine mural to grace the FAS Training Centre in Cork. A seminar on traditional pub design was presented by Russell Kelly, and later the entire group was treated to a tour and traditional Irish evening in the town of Clonakilty.

Many of the international visitors took the opportunity to mix business with pleasure and extended their stay on the green isle. As luck would have it, even the weather cooperated - not a drop of rain in this reporters two week visit!
